What does Promensil Vitality do?
Promensil Vitality can help maintain your healthy, active life by assisting in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis and helping to maintain cardiovascular and heart health. Up until menopause, oestrogen provides a protective effect on bone density and heart health. After menopause, oestrogen levels decline and the ability to absorb calcium decreases1 and heart health is likely to decline2.

Bone Health
The ingredients in Promensil Vitality, with isoflavones (natural plant oestrogens), calcium and Vitamin D3, assist in maintaining bone health3 and in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. If you are already taking a calcium supplement, Promensil Vitality can be used instead of that supplement as a way of getting all the benefits of red clover isoflavones and calcium with Vitamin D3, in the one tablet. 4

Heart Health
Studies indicate that there may be a role for red clover isoflavones (natural plant oestrogens) in helping to maintain overall cardiovascular and heart health.5

What's in Promensil Vitality?

  • Red Clover Isoflavones
  • Calcium
  • Vitamin D3
Each tablet of Promensil Vitality is standardized to contain a total of 40mg of four standardized isoflavones (genistein, daidzein, formononetin and biochanin) sourced from red clover (Trifolium pretense) as well as 1278mg of calcium carbonate (equivalent to 500mg elemental calcium) and 3.5 micrograms Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol).

Promensil Vitality is made with no added yeast, milk derivatives, gluten, preservatives, artificial colours and flavours.

How does Promensil Vitality work?

Red Clover Isoflavones
Promensil Vitality contains a red clover herbal extract which is high in isoflavones (natural plant oestrogens). Red clover is one of the world's richest natural sources of four isoflavones - in comparison, soy contains only two.

Isoflavones may help to combat the natural decrease of oestrogen in many ways. Their natural benefits have been recognized for a long time. The diets of some Eastern cultures contain high levels of isoflavones and preliminary research suggests they may contribute to the lowered incidence of menopause symptoms and lower levels of osteoporosis.3, 6, 7

Red clover isoflavones in Promensil have been clinically tested and results have indicated the potential for them to help maintain bone health, cardiovascular and heart health.5 An important cardiovascular risk factor, stiffening of the arteries, which increases with menopause, was improved with red clover isoflavones in one study, showing the possibility of these benefits.8

The role of added calcium and vitamin D3
Calcium provides assistance in building and maintaining strong bones. After menopause, women's calcium requirement increases.1 Calcium supplementation can slow bone loss in post menopausal women9 and assists in the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.4

Most of us do not get enough calcium in our diet as can be seen in the table below, thus calcium supplementation is highly beneficial to bone health after menopause.

Recommended daily intake for calcium*:
Women 31-50 years 1000mg
Women 51-70 years 1300mg
* Nutrient Reference Values for Australia & New Zealand ’06 NHMRC

Australian women's estimated average daily intake 763mg
** National Food & Nutrition Survey ‘95, Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care.

Vitamin D3 improves the absorption of calcium in the body. The main source of vitamin D for Australians is exposure to sunlight. Prevalence of vitamin D deficiency varies, but is much higher than previously thought, even in Australia.

How to take Promensil Vitality
Take 1-2 tablets daily with food, depending on your normal calcium intake, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

Clinical testing
Studies have shown that the red clover isoflavones in Promensil Vitality have the potential to benefit bone, cardiovascular and overall heart health. As well, calcium is well-known for its assistance in building and maintaining strong bones.4
