What does the Promensil Menopause Test measure?
Like the test that a doctor may use to diagnose menopause, the Promensil Menopause Test detects the level of Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) in the urine. Before menopause, during the monthly menstrual cycle, the pituitary gland in the brain releases FSH to stimulate the growth and maturity of ovarian follicles. With the onset of menopause, the monthly period becomes irregular and ovarian function begins to diminish. The body responds by releasing increased amounts of FSH. Elevated levels of FSH are a clear indication of the body's transition to menopause.
How does the Test work?
FSH hormone is detected with the help of very specific antibodies that are bound to colloidal gold particles. This system ensures that the sensitivity of the test to the FSH hormone is very high. The Test is 99% accurate for detection of elevated FSH.

- Wait 10 minutes and read results
- Repeat test one week later
